Welcome to the Core Growth Assessment System! These tools were developed by teachers to measure kindergarten readiness, establish entry-level benchmarks, and assess TK through Grade 6 students over the course of the year. Teachers use a web-based system to record assessments which automatically complete progress reports that reflect the data entered each trimester. The measures on the assessments reflect California state standards and the Preschool Learning Foundations.
Kindergarten Screening Tool
Imagine screening all of your incoming TK and K students before school starts for academic as well as social- emotional readiness and being able to start teaching the day school begins. The Kindergarten Screening Tool or KST is an 18 item screening tool, designed to provide a snapshot of a child’s skills as they enter Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten.
Full Year Assessment Tools
The Full Year Inventory (FYI) is designed to offer TK-Grade 6 teachers the opportunity to assess their students over the course of the school year utilizing a computer or tablet. The data collected through these assessments is integrated into a progress report card at the end of each grading period.
Core Growth and UDL
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a way of thinking about teaching and learning that helps give ALL students an equal opportunity to succeed. This approach offers flexibility in the ways students access material, engage with it, and show what they know. By offering a variety of options for learning and expressing knowledge, students are more engaged and better able to grasp new content, and teachers are better able to measure skills and growth.
